Along with Thursday's announcement, the band debuted their new track, "The Greatest Show on Earth," a preview from their forthcoming album, Carnaval De Luz, slated for a Nov. 13 launch. Accompanied by a music video directed by Anton Corbijn, the song portrays the struggles of a couple striving to maintain their mutual trust and spiritual conviction. The visual elements offer a satirical take on the group, depicting them as a cult-like religious movement where female followers carry the true burden.

"The Greatest Show on Earth?" Now that's a throwdown. It's a dare, to ourselves as much as anyone, to try and have the best night of anybody's life. A bit of showman, a bit of shaman, a riot of colour, unreasonable guitar, bass and drums, and tunes you can hold onto. Because if people are gonna show up, we certainly are."
- Bono, Edge, Adam and Larry
