Media Review:

Review: Walk On, Pt. 1 [Import CD]

2 1/2 stars (out of 5)

By JT Griffith, All Music Guide

The single for "Walk On" (the best song on U2's All That You Can't Leave Behind) was released in Canada while, at the same time, "Stuck in a Moment" was released in the U.K. (The first single released in the U.S. from All That You Can't Leave Behind surprisingly was "Elevation"). The CD itself has an edit of the title track, and two live songs: "Beautiful Day" and "New York," both live from the band's October 27, 2000, performance on the U.S. show Farmclub. U2's small club performances of All That You Can't Leave Behind material seem to be somewhat tame versions; these songs are written by a band who is in their element in arenas and stadiums. The song was inspired by Aung San Suu Kyi who has been under house arrest in Burma since 1989.
