This single was released in advance of U2's third studio record, 1983's War. It is the first of two singles that Island released featuring live versions of "I Will Follow." This one was released in Germany/Holland while the second was a U.S.-only 7" supporting their 1983 live album, Under a Blood Red Sky. This single had a cool cover photo of Bono on stage and contained a version of "I Will Follow (Live at Veronica's Countdown)." The B-side was the previously available studio version of "Gloria" from October. This single is highly collectible for the rare cover and even rarer live version of U2's first hit.
