Remarks:
U2 resume their U2:UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere residency and perform the twenty sixth of forty shows at the Sphere at The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas. Attendance is 18,600; a sellout. Tickets range from $140 to $500 (for presale ticket prices) but many sell at resale prices of $400 to $1,450. The opening music act is Pauli "The PSM" Lovejoy, who is the official Atomic MC / DJ host of the UV Dance Party opening each U2:UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere concert.
At tonight's show, Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, and Bram van den Berg (filling in for Larry Mullen Jr. who is recovering from back surgery) debut "Sweetest Thing" for the first time at the Sphere. The reason that the song, last performed October 4, 2017 in Mexico City, hasn't been played in so long was Bono's inability to play the piano after his 2014 bike accident. Bono says the following after he performs the song on keys: "I fell off me' bike. I haven't been able to play... it's pretty good."
After the tour debut of "Sweetest Thing," Bono and The Edge play Crowded House's "Don't Dream It's Over." It's their first full performance of the song ever since Bono snippeted the song in Auckland, NZ, on November 26, 2010. Afterwards, Bono dedicates the song to the Finn brothers (who founded Crowded House): "That's for Neil and Tim and his mother Mary from Kilmallock in Limerick, Ireland." In attendance at this evening's concert are producers Daniel Lanois and Bob Ezrin, as well as actress Rebel Wilson and her fiancée Ramona Agruma.
