For the acoustic "Songs of Surrender" middle portion of the set, Bono veers away from the usual Rattle and Hum songs and announces after "All I Want Is You": "This is the part of the show where we kind of choose... well, the plan was that we choose a different album to play acoustically a few songs from every night. And I asked Edge what was his favorite album. He said: "Our Greatest Hits won". But this is a honeymoon song. I don't know the last time we played it..." The song Bono is referring to is "Two Hearts Beat As One", a song only performed five times since 1985. "Rescue" by Echo and the Bunnymen is also sung by Bono during "Two Hearts Beat as One" as well.
Next comes a shocker: A rare performance of "Seconds", last played on August 25, 1985 at the Lark by the Lee Festival in Cork, Ireland. Bono introduces the song with these words: "Alright, this (is) a bass part, a great Adam Clayton bass part that he has not played for 40 years. From the War album: 'Seconds'. And the reason I didn't introduce you, is because I was going to ask you to sing it." After the performance, Bono elaborates more about the songs: "So that was the War album. 'Two Hearts Beat as One': hard to explain your Honeymoon album, having a Honeymoon album called War. But 'Two Hearts Beat as One' helped, it's kind of beautiful, and Ali and I got married when we were working on that." Afterwards, the band perform "Sunday Bloody Sunday", in an acoustic performance.
