Introducing "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For", Bono declares: "The next song wouldn't have happened without the inspirational genius of poets like Allen Ginsburg who woke me up to the poetry and the psalms. And these Jewish mystics who lived out in the desert would hear the voice of God in the quietest of whispers. Think of Allen's 'Kaddish' right now." After he snippets a bit of "Many Rivers to Cross" by Jimmy Cliff, Bono introduces the band: "It's a Sunday evening. Let's start with the positives. I am in a band with The Edge! One man, if he is a man, and not some supernova human. I'm also in a band with Adam Clayton! A veritable Greek god with some fancy streetwear there! Yes... I'm also in a band with Larry Mullen Junior! I want you to send our great love. Please send him your love! And we are on stage with a student and now quite clearly a professor of the subject that is Larry Mullen Junior. We are on stage with Bram van den Berg. Thank you for standing in, sitting in for our brother, our bandmate who's injured so... can you raise the roof for Larry Mullen AND Bram van den Berg?"
With Hamas declaring war on the state of Israel the previous day, Bono speaks about the massacre that occurred at the Supernova Festival near the Gaza border on October 7. Here is what he says while introducing "Pride (In the Name of Love)": "In the light of what's happened in Israel and Gaza, a song about non-violence seems somewhat ridiculous, even laughable. But our prayers have always been for peace and for non-violence, so... But our hearts and our anger, we know where that's pointed. So sing with us... and those beautiful kids at that music festival." Bono is overcome with emotion as he begins to sing "Pride (In the Name of Love)", but midway through the song he says: "Sing for our brothers and sisters, who they themselves were singing at the Supernova Sukkot Festival in Israel. We sing for those. Our people, our kind of people, music people, playful, experimental people, our kind of people, we sing for them." Moments later, Bono creates new lyrics to reflect the recent tragedy: "Early Morning, October 7, as the Sun is Rising in the Desert Sky. Stars of David, They Took Your Life. But They Could Not Take Your Pride! Could Not Take Your Pride! Could Not Take Your Pride! Could Not Take... In the Name of Love, What More in the Name of Love!" After the crowd chants until the song's conclusion, Bono states: "Thank you. God bless. Our kind of people. It was a festival of music and peace, the Supernova Sukkot Gathering. It was a festival of music and peace, could you imagine what these fuckers were doing?"
