Remarks:
U2 perform the third of forty shows at the Sphere at The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas. Attendance is 18,600; a sellout. Tickets range from $140 to $500 (for presale ticket prices) but many sell at resale prices of $400 to $1,450. The opening music act is Pauli "The PSM" Lovejoy, who is the official Atomic MC / DJ host of the UV Dance Party opening each U2:UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere concert.
This third concert of the UV:UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere Tour features the same setlist as the first two, with various snippets thrown in. Unlike at the first two shows, Bono sings a bit of "Black Dog" by Led Zeppelin as well as Elvis Presley's "Suspicious Minds". For this evening's performance of "Tryin' to Throw Your Arms Around the World", Bono invites a woman named Brigitte from Paris for a ride on the aerial silk. Here's what Bono says: "This evening we're renewing our vows with the band and the U2 crowd. This vow you gave us a life that we could never imagine, and in return our vow is that we wouldn't be boring bastards. So, we brought you here. Is that okay? Money can't buy you love, but that balloon is expensive, just sayin'." Afterwards, the fan is helped onto the silk and Bono adds: "Now if I was really cool, I'd risk my own life, but instead I'm risking Brigitte from Paris." At the end of the song, Brigitte makes a heart sign with her hands and Bono tells her: "Au revoir, Brigitte."
Earlier in the concert right before "Even Better Than the Real Thing", Bono looks at The Edge and Adam Clayton and says: "I know who you are!" This is a ritual Bono does at every show before he looks at Larry's replacement drummer, Bram van den Berg, and says: "Who the fuck are you?" Before "All I Want Is You", he introduces Bram to the crowd, and says that "the very gifted but injured Larry Mullen Jr. is replaced by the man who was a student, but now a professor". After being asked: "Are you Larry Mullen's representative on earth?", Bram van den Berg responds: "No, he doesn't need one, does he!"
