U2 perform the fourteenth of forty shows at the Sphere at The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas. Attendance is 18,600; a sellout. Tickets range from $140 to $500 (for presale ticket prices) but many sell at resale prices of $400 to $1,450. The opening music act is Pauli "The PSM" Lovejoy, who is the official Atomic MC / DJ host of the UV Dance Party opening each U2:UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere concert.
While introducing "Mysterious Ways", Bono praises the Sphere at the Venetian Resort: "It's a cave when you want it to be. It's a club in Berlin in the 90s. It's an Elvis cathedral in a city where luck goes up against faith everyday. That's right! And there's a big fight on tonight, is there not The Edge? Because personally, I... we... are ready to fall in love. Love versus luck. And we are in a flirtatious mood, are we not?"
Prior to "Love Rescue Me", Bono makes a prayer to everyone in attendance: "We are under some gigantic waves right now in the world... it's quite a storm. Of course religion plays its part. And I think it's ok for me to confess, that as a person of faith I feel so enraged by religion. Sometimes it's just not the help it's supposed to be, is it? If you're not prayin' type people, just close your eyes and let this be your meditation of some kind. Forever reason, I'm thinking of the... I don't know if it was Coretta Scott King or Martin. He had a book out called: The Strength to Love. So that's my prayer, you can have yours."
