Prior to "All I Want Is You", Bono mentions his children as well as producer/musician Brian Eno from the turntable stage: "Okay, let's put the baby to bed for a while. It's not exactly side one/side two, but... it's close! We're here on the Brian Eno turntable. Are you feeling that up there? With Brian Eno you can play with space and time. Now straight up, Achtung Baby was a difficult birth. Bringing up children is the great adventure really, isn't it? And then the humbling realization that they're actually really bringing you up. That's quite humbling. Jordan, Arran, Blue, Hadrian, Little Alba... we got our children here tonight. Ella and Peter: I dunno. And you've done a pretty good job of getting us to adulthood. Pretty good!"
Bono's nightly prayer to the world just before "Love Rescue Me" is as follows: "Now let's make this whisper a kind of scream. There's a lot to scream about these days. Some subjects we're not bringing up. Too upsetting to many people here. Anyway, this is a song we wrote with Bob Dylan, can you imagine that? Judeo-Christian Stick: Bob Dylan. This song is our prayer. If you're not the prayin' type, just close your eyes, and think of whatever you want to send... a message of hope, and love, and peace."
