Setlist:
11 O’Clock Tick Tock, The Speed Of Life, An Cat Dubh, Into The Heart, Pete The Chop, The Electric Co., Things To Make And Do, Stories For Boys, I Will Follow. Encore(s): 11 O’Clock Tick Tock.
Remarks:
U2 support The Photos. This is the last known concert to feature commercially unreleased pre-Boy songs in the setlist (The Speed Of Life followed by Pete The Chop), though it is possible U2 performed pre-Boy songs at the two festivals between this show and the start of the Boy Tour. Pete The Chop can claim the title as the last known unreleased pre-Boy song to be played live. However, as a later version of it known as Treasure (Whatever Happened To Pete The Chop?) was released as New Year’s Day’s b-side, some may prefer to count The Speed Of Life as the last unreleased pre-Boy song to be played live as no later version was commercially released.
Fan Review:
By Andy Screen
This gig was actually on 13th July, the last of a four-night stint in London (as indicated by Bono on my cassette recording of the gig), on this night as support slot for the Photos.
Set list was:
11 o’clock, Speed of Life, An Cat Dubh, Into the Heart, Pete the Chop, Electric Co, (instrumental, possibly an early outing for Things to Make & Do), Stories for Boys, I will follow and encoring with 11 o’clock.
Don’t remember too much about it 22 years on, but they certainly blew away the Photos !
