Remarks:
U2 perform the seventh of forty shows at the Sphere at The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas. Attendance is 18,600; a sellout. Tickets range from $140 to $500 (for presale ticket prices) but many sell at resale prices of $400 to $1,450. The opening music act is Pauli "The PSM" Lovejoy, who is the official Atomic MC / DJ host of the UV Dance Party opening each U2:UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere concert.
Tonight's setlist is shifted up a bit with "Acrobat" being moved up one spot ahead of "So Cruel". Bono's band introductions for tonight go like this: "This is the moment where I'd like to introduce the band. And especially the one band member who is not here. Drummers are not made, they are born, and they take a lot of punishment from singers. It's the truth. But we want to give it up for Larry Mullen Junior! Love you! And I want to thank you, Bram van den Berg, for saving our ass! When I was sticking out the window quite far, sometimes I ask Bram, have you a message? What's on your mind?" Bram van den Berg answers Bono: "Didn't I tell you never give your microphone to a drummer? But I would like to thank all the U2 fans for being so kind to me. And one little piece of Dutch advice for you all: Don't, don't go to bed."
Later, Bono gives his introduction to "Love Rescue Me": "Can you hear me whisper? Subjects where we will not bring up tonight, because, well, it's very upsetting for a lot of our friends and for all of us. So you can close your eyes and think about whatever you want to think about. Shut it, shut it, not going to talk about it. Sing to it, in a song we wrote, for the great Jewish mystic: Bob Dylan." In attendance at tonight's show is Noel Gallagher from Oasis, actress Ashley Judd, as well as Ali and Eve Hewson, Bono's wife and second oldest child.
