Remarks:
U2 kicks off the 2019 Joshua Tree Tour in Auckland, New Zealand. It is the first of 15 concerts on the tour throughout Pacifica and Asia. The concert at Mt Smart Stadium marks the first time U2 has performed in New Zealand since 2010's U2 360 Tour, and is the band's 10th show in Auckland and 15th overall in the country of New Zealand. The setlist is largely a continuation to the 2017 Joshua Tree Tour with some opening songs before U2 performed the entire Joshua Tree album in its entirety. During "Sunday Bloody Sunday", Bono mentioned the Christchurch Mosque terrorist attack that occurred earlier in the year and paid tribute to the victims during "One" (there were also some survivors in attendance). Also, Greg Carroll was featured on the video screen during "One Tree Hill" (he was a longtime friend of the band and a MÄori New Zealand native). Canadian singer-songwriter and model Shawn Mendes was spotted at tonight's show and received a shoutout from Bono during "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For".
