Remarks:

U2 kicked off the first of 4 special concerts in U2's hometown of Dublin tonight. Though "Dirty Day" was rehearsed before the show and appeared in the actual setlist, the band did not play it. With a alternate stage configuration to fit in 3Arena's unique "theater" layout, the e-stage was placed in the middle of the screen and there was no c-stage for Adam and the Edge. Bono spoke about the US midterm elections saying: "Let them hear us across the Atlantic. We used to look to them, but now they look to us. We wish for America better things than some Americans seem to wish for themselves." Irish President Michael D. Higgins, who was at the show (as well as backstage with the band), was honored during "Love Is Bigger Than Anything in Its Way". "
