U2's final stop on 2017's The Joshua Tree Tour came to the city of São Paulo in Brazil tonight, for the first of an unprecedented four concerts. Prior to "Bad", Bono quoted the words from the 1988 novel "O Alquimista" (or "The Alchemist") from Brazilian author Paulo Coelho. Bono also dedicated "Heroes" to Brazilian singer-songwriters Renato Russo and Cazuza. Drummer Larry Mullen also wore a t-shirt protesting the censorship of public art and LGBTI rights (referencing the recent shutdown of the "Queer Museum Exhibition" in Porto Alegre).
