Remarks:
U2's second of two shows in Los Angeles takes place tonight at the Rose Bowl. Other than LA, the only 2 other cities on this tour that are sporting multiple concerts are Chicago and New York City. Omitted at tonight's show is "A Sort of Homecoming". During "With or Without You", the U2 fan favorite lyrics "We'll shine like stars..." was spoken as opposed to sung by Bono during Edge's guitar solo, after Bono spotted fans holding up signs. Bono dedicates "One Tree Hill" to Soundgarden's late frontman Chris Cornell. The encore section is split into two parts with "Miss Sarajevo" opening the first encore for the first time in history. "The Little Things That Give You Away" returned to the setlist and closed the show. The concert featured only 21 songs (as opposed to 22 or 23), making this the shortest setlist on the tour thus far (and shortest concert since Auckland, NZ on November 24, 2006). A slew of celebrities were spotted in the crowd including: Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl, Coldplay's Chris Martin, actor Sean Penn, supermodel Helena Christensen, supermodel Cindy Crawford, singer Adam Levine, actor Matt Damon, singer Quincy Jones and comedian Jimmy Kimmel.
