Remarks:
U2's first of two shows in Los Angeles kicks off tonight at the Rose Bowl. Bono dedicates "Running to Stand Still" to Chris Cornell (and his wife Vicky and their children), the lead singer of Soundgarden who tragically committed suicide just days earlier. Soundgarden's "Black Hole Sun" was played during the pre-show music. Bono also dedicates "Ultra Violet (Light My Way)" to Bono's daughters Jordan and Eve, who are in attendance. During "One", Bono gives a shout out to Alicia Keys as well. Finally, Bono dedicates the concert to Guus Van Hove & Helena Nuellett, two European U2 fans who died years ago while searching for the location of The Joshua Tree's album photography shoot in Joshua Tree National Park. As far as setlist changes, "Bad" was moved down to the encore and "The Little Things That Give You Away" wasn't performed for the first time on the tour, with "I Will Follow" closing the show.
