Remarks:

U2 performed for the third consecutive time in Dublin, and the big surprise song was "New Year's Day", performed for only the 3rd time on the tour. A number of special guests were in attendance tonight including Bono's wife, Ali Hewson and his brother Norman. Also spotted at the show were actors Matt Damon and Colin Farrell. Also at the show was Bono's childhood friend Andrew Rowan, who was the inspiration behind the U2 songs "Raised by Wolves" and "Bad". Bono spoke of Andy, who was trapped in his father's van near the cars that were bombed in Dublin's city center on May 17, 1974, and how he picked up a piece of metal from a bombed automobile: "Because it took a little piece of me, I took a piece of it."
