Remarks:
A special show occurs tonight in Chicago, Illinois. "Gloria" is performed in full for the first time in nearly 10 years and is also the first song to be performed from 1981's "October" album on this tour. Family members from U2 are at the show, including Bono's wife, Ali Hewson, along with Bono's children, The Edge's children and Larry's children. The recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling of marriage equality for the gay & lesbian community was celebrated uninhibitedly throughout the concert and peaked when Bono sang "Gay Pride in the name of love!" during "Pride" after a rainbow flag was given to Bono. The celebration continued into "Beautiful Day", and Bono uttered "...a rainbow of colors right in front of you". Afterwards, Bono sang a portion of "Two Hearts Beat As One", a song last performed live December 27, 1989. "There's a marriage theme tonight" Bono stated as he started singing "All I Want Is You", performed for only the second time on the tour. With Johnny and June Carter Cash's son in the audience, Bono said: "Here's another one we don't play very much. You can tell the missus is in the house!" Earlier, Bono brought up on stage 3 fans for the Meerkat video portion of the show, one named Julia (whom Bono later sung a portion The Beatles' "Julia", and 2 others, including a blind guitarist named Sean, to help perform "Desire". Finally, "Lucifer's Hands" makes it into the setlist for only the second time on the Innocence + Experience tour.
