Fan Review:

By Tom Berard

I had heard only a little bit about U2 before this show. Local favorites the Slickee Boys opened this show, and their set was broadcast on a local radio station. I stayed home to tape their set, and popped down to the Bayou to see U2.

I can't say too much about them, other than it was a great show, and they really put their all into it. They did all the early songs from "Boy,' as I'm pretty certain they didn't have many others at that point.

I have a bootleg of their March show in Boston, and I remember Bono was very generous and supportive of the local bands they'd been playing with, including "Mission and Burma" sic.

I liked them enough to come back out to see them again at the Bayou three months later in March.
