Remarks:
U2 performs the thirty ninth of forty shows at the Sphere at The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas. Attendance is 18,600; a sellout. Tickets range from $140 to $500 (for presale ticket prices) but many sell at resale prices of $400 to $1,450. The opening music act is Pauli "The PSM" Lovejoy, who is the official Atomic MC / DJ host of the UV Dance Party opening each U2:UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere concert.
At this second to final show of U2's run at the Sphere at the Venetian Resort in Las Vegas, a special guest is in attendance tonight. It's no other than U2's original drummer, Larry Mullen Junior. Though rumors had spread regarding him returning to the stage for the final two shows and performing on a few acoustic numbers, instead Larry is spotted in a VIP box section watching his band from the stands. Meanwhile, cameras are once again filming the show like the previous two concerts, as a feature film will be released in the near future.
After "With or Without You," Bono honors Larry with the following speech: "So many rumors that we wouldn't get here, but we did! Also, rumors that our Larry would be playing with us are not true. Sadly, but he is here with us. I think I can see... Is it over here? Where were we? Can we get a spotlight? There he is... Larry Mullen Jr. right there! That is the man who pinned the note on the notice board at Mount Temple Comprehensive all those years ago and we are very grateful that he did. And that he is here with us tonight and we wish him a speedy, speedy, speedy recovery. We love you Larry Mullen Jr... Larry Mullen Sr. would be very proud." Bono's voice starts to crack from emotion and says thank you. Meanwhile, the crowd starts chanting Larry's name. Bono continues: "Encore... We play this game every fucking night and we pretend that we're doing an encore. And it's not, it's not an ecore. It's on the setlist. There is a thing called the internet. It's a beautiful night, Larry, a beautiful day."
