Remarks:
U2 stops in Los Angeles for the first of two shows at Inglewood's Forum tonight. "Red Flag Day" makes its return to the setlist and "Gloria" and "The Ocean" continue to be mainstays in the new tour. Kurt Weill's "Alabama Song" is excerpted after "Until the End of the World" for the first time as well. Just prior to the encore, Bono came out to recite the words over the PA to Jim O'Rourke's cover of Ivor Cutler's song "Women of the World". Spotted at tonight's show were former U.S. Representative Gabby Giffords, producer Jimmy Iovine, as well as musicians Beck, Stewart Copeland, and One Direction's Niall Horan.
