Remarks:
After an unforeseen cancellation of the concert in St. Louis on September 16, U2 returned to the Phoenix area, the site of the kickoff of the original Joshua Tree tour in 1987. Inspired by the widescreen landscapes and scenery in Arizona, U2 performed a longer than average show at 22 songs, including the return of "Miss Sarajevo" to the encore. Bono paid tribute to the earthquake victims in Mexico City with "One" when he said: "Don't let go, Mexico... Viva Mexico!" Senator John McCain and his wife Cindy were honored by Bono during "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For". Also at the concert tonight were filmmakers Anton Corbijn and Bill Carter, Olympic athlete Michael Phelps, retired Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Randy Johnson and actor David Spade.
