Remarks:
U2's concert tonight in Louisville was the first one in 35 years in this city. The last time U2 visited the state of Kentucky was in 2001 when they performed in Lexington as part of their Elevation Tour. This also was the very first stadium show U2 ever performed in Kentucky. Bono dedicated "One Tree Hill" to Republican congressman Steve Scalise, who was critically wounded in a mass shooting just days before at a baseball game in Virginia. Bono also honored former Arizona Congresswoman Gabby Giffords and her husband/astronaut Mark Kelly, who were in attendance at the show. Finally, Bono dedicated "Ultra Violet (Light My Way)" to slain British Labour Party politician Jo Cox.
