Opening Act(s): Damian Marley

Setlist:

City Of Blinding Lights, Vertigo, Elevation, I Will Follow, The Electric Co., I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For, Beautiful Day, Miracle Drug, Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own, Love And Peace Or Else, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Bullet The Blue Sky, Miss Sarajevo, Pride (In The Name Of Love), Where The Streets Have No Name, One. Encore(s): Walk On (acoustic), Fast Cars, People Get Ready, With Or Without You, All Because Of You, 40.

Remarks:

During the encore, Bono announces that they want to play 'People Get Ready', but says they need an extra guitar player. The crowd erupts when Bruce Springsteen strolls on stage to reprise a collaboration that first happened in September 1987, at Philly's now-demolished JFK Stadium. Bono calls Bruce's wife, Patti Scialfa, on stage to help with vocals. They play an extended version of the song with mostly made-up lyrics, eventually leaving only Bruce (playing Bono's Irish Falcon guitar) and Larry on stage to close out the first encore. The planned setlist has the show ending with Original Of The Species and Bad, but the band plays All Because Of You and 40 instead.

I had the pleasure of attending the U2 show of October 17, the second of two sold out shows in Philadelphia. It was my second U2 show that I've seen, the other being about 10 years ago.
This show was really great, I liked it from start to finish. Song after song was played marvelously and Bono was very interactive with the crowd and really entertained nicely.
Bruce Springsteen made a special appearance on stage which of course sent the sold out crowd crazy and Bono made reference to New York, not being so lucky to have Bruce on stage when they played Madison Square Garden. So Bono ended up singing with Bruce and invited Bruce to bring his wife on stage to sing, and then Bono ends up taking Bruce's wife back stage with him, leaving Bruce and the rest of U2 to sing 'People Get Ready' on their own! Nice guy!

All in all a great show from one of the last huge rock and roll bands of my era anyway!

Long live rock! and U2

I also had the pleasure of going to the U2 concert on Monday at the Wachovia Center. It was my first u2 concert and I was blown away. I had beautiful seats in section 121! Amazing! All the songs were amazing! I think the best was "Where the streets have no name" The crowd's emotion was at a high at that point... until..... The boss came! So my rating of the concert 1-10, a absolute 10! Thanks U2 and the fans for making it a great night!
