U2 make an unannounced appearance at the festival, playing a 9-song set on the back of a truck bed. About two dozen fans close to the stage pass out during U2's set and have to be taken to a nearby hospital. Freddie White joins U2 on guitar during Knockin' On Heaven's Door. Bono thanks the crowd for being supportive of U2 when the band was just starting out. The Festival lineup included: Cyprus Mine, Porcelyn Tears, The Stargazers, Freddie White and Friends.
