Fan Review:

By Ryan Holt

This is the first time I saw U2 and they were at the north hall opening for J Geils Band (a band I could've cared less about). What a great concert, the music was raw and unpretentious. No posing here just great music. Unfortunately for the fans that came to see U2, some J Geils idiot fan threw a beer bottle and hit Bono in the head. He was pissed and for good reason. He slammed the mic on stage, exited, only to return saying "We will never play in Memphis Tenneesee again!". I was bummed the rest of the night and all through my high school years. I think they returned at a later date but I was gone by then. Too bad for fans in Memphis. Notwithstanding the beer bottle incident, this was one of the best concerts I have seen. Thank God for MTV and the live at Red Rocks, so that their early years was captured. Long live U2!!!
