Fan Review:

By Bruce Carter

I and my soon-to-be wife attended this early show in San Francisco. None of our friends recognized the name of the group we were going to see - they were a year or two away from having any American hits.

When we said, "They're from Ireland," it was assumed that they played bar music.

The California Hall is a small place where most of the audience stands in front of the stage. We found ourselves standing next to Paul Kantner and Bill Graham, both legends in the San Francisco area already for fifteen years at that point.

They were listening intently and talking pretty seriously. I asked, "What do you think?"

Kantner said, "This is the way music needs to go."
