Fan Review:
By Kathy Grant
I am now a 45 year old stay at home mom, married to a lawyer- the picture of propriety. But I remember this day like it was yesterday. The weather was very hot, and we got to the Rainbow early, thinking that U2 with the popular lead-in band the Brains would be crowded. We were wrong. The theatre was more than half empty. We had the run of the place, and we were partying. When Bono took the stage, we forgot about the Brains, even though they had been very good. U2 was electric. They were so full of raw energy, we couldn't believe how great they were! It was like a private jam session, and the small crowd went wild! I have seen many concerts, but nothing like this, before or since. The Edge was extreme, and Bono was intense and strong. Overall, this concert had a greater effect on me than any other. The next concert they had, the following February, the Rainbow was packed, even though the weather was bitter, and I had third row center seats, but it just wasn't the same. Even so, I knew they would be HUGE!!!
