Pretty scary that I was there, all of 23 years ago.

Here is what I remember:

"I Will Follow" was out and being played on the local student radio station at KU (KJHK).

I distinctly remember getting in with a fake ID and being able to drink cocktails while the band (who like me, were under 21), could not - at least officially.

I also remember they did not have enough songs to really fill out the set, and so they had to play several of them twice.

I also remember that when U2 came back to KC in maybe 1987 (Joshua Tree), Bono fondly recalled the show at the Uptown. He also spoke of hitting the after-hours jazz clubs in KC after their show, which I thought was pretty cool at the time (still do).

Great show and fun to remember them from the early days.
