Fan Review:

By Old Nic

It was on a Sunday night in the ( Speakeasy )front bar of Queens University. The band were supporting a ‘heavy metal ’ Belfast group Sweet Savage. We had trouble getting in as we weren’t students and you had to be signed in…..bunch of wankers. The boys sat behind us in the bar and looked as if they were shitting themselves.

Anyway U2 came on and went down like the Irish economy and after much heckling from the metal crew U2 played about 7/8 tunes then departed never to be heard of again !!. Anyway we departed shortly after to catch the last bus on the scenic Ormeau Road luckily the bus was on time as the local republican youth were getting restless so they just stoned the bus as usual…….ah the good old days.

They reason we were there was cause they had supported Belfast favs Rudi at the Dublin 24 Hour Festival ( Dark Space ? )and i had got a copy of Out Of Control 3 tracker which i think they played also Boy/Girl.There you go thats the Word on that gig which i thought was great.
