A great concert! But a little bit damaged by the fact that me and some friends noticed that in some parts there was playback!

Posted by: Miguel at August 18, 2005 05:34 PM

Playback? Are you kidding me? Witch parts do you mean? I went to all the Amsterdam shows and I can assure you that they didn't playback anything. I know The Edge uses on some songs digital samplers & sequencers to back his guitar playing, but that's completely understandable for the fact he's the only guitarist and there's no 5th band member to play keyboards. But that doesn't even come near playback. It's a wholesome live show, cause U2 is a live band!

I saw the last 3 concerts in Lisbon, and they are like Port wine...the more older better.

I saw and understand the U2 message, that we must to save definitively people of poverty and the priority is Africa.

Continue the Go(o)d work.

I have seen the show in Milan and this one in Lisbon.
For me in Milan was better than in Lisbon because I have found the portugees people non hot than in Italy. I'm sorry.
Of couse, the band and the concert was wonderfull in any case.

Hello

I was there and it was something just beyond imagination. it`s impossible to describe it. Having seen the other 3 shows in Portugal so far vertigo for me was nº1 eventhough it`s impossible to compare. It has such a powerfull attitude and feeling that blasts you to the wall.

Can't believe the comments Bono (Paul) made today on a Chicago radio station about the people who were ravaged by Hurricane Katrina here in the United States. When asked if he was going to help out, he stated that they 'are collecting hair...you know, all those people down there like mullets, right? We're going to send them mullets...'
Get in the ring Bono. Get your head out of your back-end hair and help our country like we try to help everyone around the world. We are not all likin' George Bush and his policies you know. And, right now, we are not likin' you at all, especially in Chicago. What happened has nothing to do with political policies, which you fight true and hard. 'Those people' are the very people you used to personify in your 'Angel of Harlem' song. You are a hypocrite and a cad.

Healy, you are wrong to criticize Bono at all. I don't expect you to understand anything I say, however, because you are too bitter and lack any perspective at all except what you see fit for yourself. And, by the way, what have you done for the Hurricane victims? Take the plank out of your eye before you take the spec out of someone elses.

First of all, you cannot understand the context in which Bono spoke. You weren't there. You must work for the media, because you are taking one small phrase and turning it into a drama...Hope you win an oscar!

Second, I'm not sure how George Bush fits into your harmless banter but, since you bring it up, being a Bush-basher only shows how deep your media fed ignorance runs. Why go through life trying so hard to only find information that lends its support to your close-minded view of your world. Tell me five things you hate about Bush, since he has stolen the freedom of your life out of your grasp, and I will show you how you have been a complete pawn of the darling Media, whose tales of drama have become your bible. Have I agreed with Bush completely...no but, I do know that the greatest human ever could try his/her absolute best as president and STILL, the media would do everything they could to tear that person down.
"Don't believe what you hear, don't believe what you see. If you just close your eyes, you can feel the enemy..."
If the media continues to be your oasis of information, a life of blindness shall be yours.

Lastly, if you truly knew who U2 are and their heart for the world, backed by a consistency that is truly inspiring, you would not even have to think twice to understand that if something doesn't immediately seem to line up, be patient, try to understand the context and where he was coming from.

If you are a critic for a living, please change your job...being negative all the time is depressing and it keeps you from noticing that "after the flood...all the colors came out.."
