U2 to Play New York Club Show
11.20.00 - Jam! Showbiz
U2's hit-and-run tour of small venues will land back in America next month.
The band will perform at New York City's Irving Plaza club on Dec. 5, with tickets being handed out by Big Apple radio station K-Rock. Billboard Magazine also reported that there are plans to syndicate a live broadcast of the show.
Since the release of their ninth studio album, "All That You Can't Leave Behind," the Irish band has been engaging in a series of small-scale shows, including a Sept. 27 performance at a hotel they own in Dublin, at Paris' Man Ray Club, a show on Britain's Radio 1, an appearance on "Jimmy And Doug's Farmclub.com" TV show in the U.S., MTV's "Total Request Live" and "MTV Europe Awards."
The group is also scheduled to perform at VH1's "My VH1 Awards" on Nov. 30 and plan to kick off a full tour in March.
