I come from Belgium and because i had no ticket for Brussels, i went to Paris. The weather was nice. It was fantastic and many other superlatives. The crowd was so enthousiastic, there was handclapping from the beginning till the end, especially during "the greatest hits". Bono looked a kind of Jezus with sunglasses. He sang a Happy Birthday for Holly who became 21 years old and at the end he danced with Fabi, a french girl he picked out of the public. He refered to the people in London (7/7) in the intro of Running to stand still and pleaded for our support for Africa in Where the Streets Have No Name. Bono said that he would never forget the Paris-concerts, well so do i !!!

The sound at tonight's show in Amsterdam (July 13) was inexcusably abysmal. I have never heard distortion that bad in 35 years of going to rock concerts. The stadium didn't help. It has a glass roof which was kept closed, so we endured hours of oppressive heat and cigarette smoke (you can smoke as much as you like anywhere you like, as long as it is tobacco, I kid you not). The opeing sets by Kaiser Chiefs and The Killers were inaubible but we hung in there because we assumed U2 would never perform if they couldn't give their fans a decent sound. But it was not worth the wait. You couldn't hear what Edge was playing or what Bono was saying. We flew to Amsterdam from Florida just to see this show, obviously a big mistake. We still love U2 and greatly admire what Bono is doing for the world, but unless tonight's sound was some weird aberration this will be our first and last U2 concert. We are are deeply disappointed.
