I've read the July 2, 2009 entry by Brenda, the other News Contributor for this site, and have to admit it's very shocking and frankly I'm very puzzled and offended. Her several opinions, regarding the way U2 are promoting their latest cause, their rotating stage, etc, and her profanity is very upsetting, just because you have the right to freedom of speech doesn't mean you should abuse it. It was my understanding that the lifting of censoring was only meant for the forum. How will the U2 guys feel if they, or one of their children read it? What about all the young impressionable fans out there? U2 has always been known to be, and still is the most classiest, nicest, and the most credible band out there, and this posting by Brenda is pretty much a slap in their face. These wonderful humanitarians promote causes from the bottom of their hearts. These men are very kind and really do not warrant this being written about them. Instead, let's stand behind them, give them support and not look a gift horse in the mouth, let us honor U2, and help them promote peace on earth..
Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses, it's the fifth track on U2 's 1991 album, Achtung Baby, and was released in 1992 as the album's fifth and final single. U2 has mentioned horses in many of their songs, and it's apparent they hold a very high regard towards the magnificent creature.
My opinion on Wild Horses - I believe they should be left roaming wild and free, however, I do realize a few on occasion need to be gathered, but not at the rate it is being done. Both Wild Horses and U2 have given tremendously to society. The horses, as well as the band, have inspired me through the years, have made me strive to do my best, and to give back as well. Too many wild mustangs and burros are being taken off their rightful land. At this time I'd like to ask all U2 fans to please go to my website www.wildmustangcoalition.org, to learn how you can take part in preserving America's Heritage.
In U2's latest CD, No Line On The Horizon, I was elated to hear they mentioned once again the beloved animal. It's stated in the third track.. Moment of Surrender, "To let the horses run free" I couldn't agree more with that statement, and I pray that the American Wild Horse does not disappear and become extinct as it will be the case if the rate of gathers continue. God Bless America's Wild Horses and U2, the "other" Living Legends.
Thank you,
Karen Mayfield
As well as talented artists, U2 is also made up of extraordinary humanitarians. If you're an avid fan, then you know of their different associations with organizations throughout the years, as a band, and with their own individual affiliations as well. I am very proud to announce that I have climbed onboard EDUN, a wonderful company, founded by Bono and his wife, Ali Hewson, in 2005. EDUN specializes in Organic Clothing, Graphic Tees, and Eco Clothing with a mission to drive sustainable employment in developing economies. I am so excited to be apart of such a fantastic project. Ali has toured, promoted, and spent countless hours of giving her time to such a great cause, and Bono has given his time as well to the undertaking, as it is also his great passion. I look so forward to being involved, lending my support, and helping with promotion. I also stand behind the other wonderful causes the rest of the band members take part in, plus my own, dear to my heart, wild horses and burros. - Please show your support for this awesome company by visiting my website and click on the EDUN banner.

Last year was my first time visiting Las Vegas, and on my journey, I came across this breathtaking valley of Joshua Trees, and yes, it just so happens to be my favorite type of tree, and U2 also chose it be to the name of their fifth studio album, the one in fact that caught, or should I say, grabbed my attention to them, and is also one of my favorites. It appears as though I will have to travel that way again to see U2 in concert. I was hoping they would appear closer to where I live, but I would, if I had to, go to the ends of the earth to see these guys perform. I know I'm going to shock many of you readers when I admit that I've never seen U2 in concert, but this go around, 360 degrees,to be exact, I'm not going to miss, so it looks like Las Vegas, here I come.
I look so forward to seeing these great humanitarians in person, The Edge, with his down to earth personality, and Adam, with his thoughtfulness, as I received such a wonderful Christmas greeting from him, and yet another, on New Year's Day.. And then of course, there's the other two great Irishmen, Larry and Bono, who take the time to give back to their fans, and really appreciate them, as the others do as well. What can I say, these guys really do rock..

First, I would like to give a heartfelt congratulations to U2station, as we have officially relaunched! It has involved many months of hard work, and the result is breathtaking.
Now, back to business, and onto one of the world's greatest couples.. Ali and Bono, been together forever, and still madly in love, and it's no wonder, as they are both very sweet, and as down to earth as it gets. They dearly do love and respect each another, which I believe, is key, and is so refreshing to see. Ali once said, "Knowing someone's memories is when you really know them inside out -- when you've grown up with them and made that journey through adulthood together." I so agree with that statement, and what an awesome marriage it makes. I can see the very special bond it creates in my own parents, also been together forever, and still just like high school sweethearts.
I have so admired Mr. and Mrs. Hewson throughout the years, they, as well as the others in the band, have given themselves to people in need, and have truly made a difference in the world. Years ago when I first heard about U2, I knew at that time, that these artists were different. I guess that's why I'm such a huge fan, not only do they make first-rate music, but they are also great human beings. They say there's something to said about the Irish.. quite possibly so.

If you're a fan of U2, then chances are, you're probably aware of the controversy going on in Malibu between The Edge and the nearby residents. They're apparently upset about the proposed project that includes the building of five mountaintop mansions. His neighbors are doubting his green pitch, as well as saying it will scar the mountain side. The Edge does state that these homes will be some of the most environmentally sensitive. I've heard both sides of the story and I really believe the Irish icon has a right to build if he so wishes. Now I know it's easy for me to say as I live in the middle of wide open spaces, and my neighbors are wild horses, but this is rural Nevada. I believe when you go to Malibu, you expect to see many lavish, extravagant homes, but then again, that's just my take on it. It's sad to hear that people are doubting his word and credibility, as a public figure, The Edge's credibility spans for more than thirty years, as well as for the other Irish lads in the band. I believe we need to compromise with each other, this is one world, and we all need to share it.
I welcome your thoughts and comments,

Hello Everyone,
I would first like to say I'm so thrilled to be on board, this is such a unique and wonderful site, no wonder it received great recognition in 2001. I was first introduced to U2 when Joshua Tree entered the airwaves, as you can imagine, I've been hooked ever since. As well as producing great music over the years, these guys from the North side of Dublin have stood for great things and throughout the years and they've proven that a rock band can have great credibility, power and can even change the world, as when U2 speaks, the world listens.
My first personal encounter with the band was last year when I had the pleasure of communicating with The Edge, and when I say he is truly nice and down to earth, it's really a serious statement. I believe the reason for his success is his heart and passion for music, when you bring the two together for your mission, you are destined for success, I can relate, as I feel the same about my mission, wild horses.
