Brad Pitt Helps Bono Celebrate 48th Birthday in Monaco

By Peter Mikelbank, People Magazine,

Even by Monaco standards, it wasn't your ordinary dinner party for 12 on Friday night - though there was cake and champagne.

To celebrate his 48th birthday, U2 frontman Bono held a small dinner party at Sass' Café in Monaco. On the guest list: Brad Pitt, Monaco's Prince Albert II and The Edge.

"It was really quite a surprise," the café's maitre de tells PEOPLE. "It wasn't organized in advance. We only got called on it that afternoon."

Despite Pitt's presence, Angelina Jolie, who had visited Bono in Eze with her children last Sunday, remained at home.

The sit-down dinner, arranged by Bono's wife Ali Hewson, began with red wine at 10 p.m., according to staff, even before The Edge arrived for the evening. The meal was followed by a champagne toast and strawberry cake lit with candles; a staffer described the party as "tres speciale."

No word on what gifts Bono received - but what do you give a man who has his own rock band and has already been nominated for the Nobel Prize?

11 years and counting, the U2 Station has served millions of U2 fans on the net. We are here to constantly improve this website and provide you with world class content on U2. Please email us If you would like to become a contributing writer to this website.

In early March of 1997, U2 were on the verge of releasing their first studio album in over four years. At that time, there were only a handful of websites that excelled in delivering vital information about U2's music while offering a wide variety of U2 media. The U2 Station was created during that time to give fans complete coverage about the band.

Now eleven years later, the site has received critical acclaim from not only millions of fans, but from several organizations/corporations including the Jubilee Network, African Well Fund, Rolling Stone Online, MTV, VH1, and a member of U2's organization itself. In the late 1990's, U2's corporate members were coming to this website for guidance and insight on creating their own official site for promoting official U2 merchandise. Today, in the 21st century, U2 Station has set the standard for many official band sites online.

We here at U2Station.com offer an active forum, daily news blog, AJAX-powered chatroom, an official Flickr account for fans to post their own images, a vast concert/tour archive, over 300 guitar tablature files for educational purposes, an exclusive resource of music and film releases called the U2ography, original fan features and much more. On average, U2Station.com receives over 75,000 hits and 3,000 visitors per day.

Each one of these visitors could be your next new customer! Currently, we are looking to promote ticket brokers for multiple year contracts with renewal potential. Flexible plans are also available. For further information, please email the webmaster, Jonathan W., in the contact form below.
